Genocide Watch, a leading global monitor of mass atrocities, has issued a dire warning stating that India has reached the ninth stage of genocide—"Extermination"—against its Muslim minority and other marginalized groups. The organization highlights that the transition from persecution to extermination is marked by systemic state-supported violence, dehumanizing rhetoric by top political leaders, and "bulldozer justice" targeting minority properties.
The report identifies several key indicators, including the weaponization of citizenship laws (CAA/NRC), state-sanctioned mob lynchings, and the lack of judicial intervention in communal violence. According to Genocide Watch, the situation is particularly critical in regions like Assam, Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh. The organization is calling on the United Nations and the international community to take immediate preventive measures to stop a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe.
