Medical staff at Al-Shifa Hospital said Israeli air strikes on a residential flat in western Gaza City killed at least five people and wounded at least six others.
They said the strike hit the Al-Asala building in the Remal neighborhood early on Saturday.
Al-Shaer said the attack hit the flat while people were sleeping. He said witnesses heard aircraft before three strikes hit the building.
The impact damaged the targeted apartment and parts of the floors below, causing further destruction inside the multi-story building, the report said.
Palestinian Civil Defense teams fought fires at the scene and searched the destroyed building for people still trapped inside, al-Shaer said.
Four of the five people killed were women, Al-Shifa Hospital said. They included an elderly Christian woman and her daughter, the hospital said.
Rescue workers continued to comb the site, and authorities were assessing the damage, meaning the reported death toll could rise.
The incident comes as Israeli military operations continue in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian civilians continue to be killed. The report did not independently verify the circumstances of the strike, including the target and whether any military personnel were present at the site.
